Pharmacokinetics Bootcamp
Apex Pharmacology Institute (API) offers an intensive Pharmacokinetics (PK) Bootcamp designed to provide pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and life-science professionals with a practical and integrated understanding of how drugs are absorbed, distributed, metabolized, and eliminated (ADME), and how these processes influence drug exposure, efficacy, safety, and development decisions. The program connects fundamental PK principles with their real-world applications across preclinical and clinical drug development.
The Bootcamp may cover ADME principles, bioavailability and bioequivalence, clearance, volume of distribution, half-life, steady state, compartmental and noncompartmental analysis, dose–exposure relationships, drug metabolism and transporters, drug–drug interactions, PK/PD relationships, interindividual variability, special populations, preclinical PK and species selection, allometric scaling, human PK prediction, first-in-human dose considerations, population pharmacokinetics, exposure–response analysis, and regulatory applications of PK data. Advanced or specialized modules can also address DMPK strategies, reaction phenotyping, in vitro–in vivo extrapolation (IVIVE), physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modeling, and pharmacogenomic influences on drug disposition.
API can tailor the Pharmacokinetics Bootcamp to different levels of expertise—from professionals who need a strong working foundation in PK to scientists and development teams seeking more advanced or specialized training. Through real-world datasets, case studies, calculation exercises, development scenarios, and interactive problem-solving, participants learn not only PK concepts but how to interpret and apply PK information to drug-development decisions. Programs may be delivered on-site, virtually, live, recorded/on-demand, or through blended formats, as intensive workshops or multi-module training programs.
